RLCF-FAD

Radiant Life Christian Fellowship is a supporter of  Families of the Dump

The Families at the Dump mandate:
Families at the Dump serves to meet physical, spiritual and educational needs of families living on and around the Puerto Vallarta garbage dump and in surrounding communities.

In June Scott and Megan Fanucchi left for Puerto Vallarta Mexico to assist in the management of the Families of the Dump Ministry. Scott oversaw the distribution of food and managed the collection and dispersing of prescription drugs that were to be administered by the doctors that see the families each Thursday. Scott also worked to provide 300 sandwiches that were made by volunteers and taken to the dumps weekly. Megan managed the dispersing of the food at the dumps. She also arranged for and lead the daily tours to the dumps from the Nuevo Vallarta resort area. Together Scott and Megan attended and represented FAD at resort weekly Welcome Parties and Member Parties. On Sunday Megan would set up a ministry table at the non-denominational Christian Church at Paradise Village and present the ministry to those that were interested. Scott lead the worship during the Sunday service. Larrisa and Liz, youth from our church, traveled to Mexico and spent several weeks assisting in the FAD ministry.

This past July RLCF had their annual Vacation Bible School (VBS). We had 50 children come for a week of learning about Jesus. At the beginning of the week we showed the children a picture story about the families that work and live at the Puerto Vallarta garbage dump. As part of an outreach to help other children they brought their pennies, nickels and dimes each day as an offering to help the children that live at the Puerto Vallarta dump. The purpose of the offering was to purchase back packs to be used by the children when they start school. At the end of the week the given totaled $300 dollars and we were able to purchase 40 back packs.

In August Pastor Joe and his wife Sue went to Puerto Vallarta to deliver the money and help out Scott and Megan with the FAD ministry. They were there for three weeks.

We will also be working with the leaders of FAD to find out how we as a church body and assist them and help with their needs.

Pray for this needed ministry. Pray that the hand of God will bless them abundantly.
